Genetic Attraction
Torture, yes, it was torture reading this story! I lost sleep on
this book.I started reading this story late at night and I could not put it
down and go to bed so I got to see the sunrise before I got to the end. I knew
when I saw the cover that I wanted it even before I read the excerpt.
The first thing that drew me in and stood out was the dialect, which gave a
flare of modern day "real people" feeling to the story, and the
characters just jumped out at me with their personality. From Roan with his 'I
know I'm beautiful attitude' to Jake's 'I made a mess of things'; and then
there is Em who gets lost in her work and forgets about the world outside the
lab. I would have liked to have seen more of a build up in the relationship
between the Em and Roan before the first sex scene, just to add more depth to
the plot. However, even without the build up it was still enjoyable because of
the twist in the plot and the hippy life style that Em grew up in with free
love and all. I thought is was endearing that Em wanted to talk to her mom
about a ménage knowing that her mom was a free spirit from the sixties.
I love the book, between the dialect and the cute phrases I laughed so hard, I
was afraid I would wake the hubby. So many clever and quick-witted remarks that
just added to the overall story. I did have to put the book down for a minute
and get on the computer to find out about the old Kinsey continuum of
sexuality, just to see if I could find any input. This story was a wild ride
and a lot of "hey what the hell"; I think it was a new and well plan
plot, which is why I will be adding Tara Lain to my list of favorite authors. I
definitely fell in love with her writing style and imagination. She had such a
refreshing plot that will stay with me a long time and I think is well worth
the money to add to your library.

The Scientist and the Supermodel
“He’d managed to get hard earlier, but only after she’d sucked him like a Hoover and he’d done some seriously heavy fantasizing.” This is one line that will stick in my mind for a long, long time. One of the things I love about reading books by Tara Lain is the way her imagination comes out in the written word. It's all the cute lines and the vivid details that leave you smiling and going back to re-read them again. I fell in love with both of the heroes in the first book,Genetic Attraction, so I was eager to get my hands on this one. This story was more of a step back in time and told how the two hot men, Roan Black and Jake Martin, got together.
It's funny how, when you read a book that is so good, the characters not only hold your attention but your heart as well. In this story I got to see the lust and love of both Roan and Jake grow and bloom into something everlasting. As I watched the tale unfold, I could not help but wish them both the best and hoped they'd come away with everything they wanted. Not only does the book have an in-depth plot that broke my heart, it also had a beautiful air of tenderness that left me breathless.
Roan's need for a family and to be loved, even though he is a supermodel, was a story line that made my heart ache for him. It was hard watching and waiting for Jake to make up his mind and decide what he wanted out of life. There is so much emotion between the pages of this book that I found it hard to put down. This is one of the best M/M stories I have read and one I will be reading again. The story of Jake and Roan is so exquisite I walked away from this tale loving them both.

nor does she want to. But this isn't just a weekend fling for the men. They
are looking at a lifetime of forever with her. Their three-way love isn't
exactly considered proper by the university that funds her research nor by
her peers and with Roan's notoriety, secrecy isn't an option for the lovers.

Whoa, momma! This book is hot. The heat comes from a well thought out plot, and an author who has a crazy sense of humor that made it impossible to put the book down until the end. The story is built around three men, a news reporter MacKenzie MacAllister (Mac Mac) and so-called straight man, Silver hair Daniel Terrebone, billionaire art collector and possible art thief, and Trelain Medveyev, a beautiful golden hair, gay Russian ballet dancer.
Ms. Lain has a way of bringing out the chemistry between the characters that both charmed and hypnotized me, and left me with a sense of peace and contentment when I was finished. The dialogue and true-to-life characters made me feel like a fly on the wall watching the drama play out. I love the fact that all three men are so different in personalities as well as lifestyles yet they are all drawn to each other. And of course the sex scenes were hot enough to boil water.
The tale was a work of art in itself with a lot of emotional pull; one that will be read again and again.

Surprisingly enough, ménages do it for me. This one more than did it. The perfect combination of steamy sex scenes, character vulnerability and mysterious background story just sucked me right in. I'm not lying when I say I hardly took a break and genuinely enjoyed every sentence in this complex tale of self-discovery, surrender and love. .....
Tara Lain knows how to write her men, breathe life into them and give them just the right amount of sensitivity without making them a weeping mess. They are funny, sensual and endearing, the same as her wonderful book.
A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: Terri
This is the first book of what appears to be the start of a series of stories centering around Aloysius. I’m not sure how that is going to look but this opening story is awesome.
The characters are totally hot. Killian is a young, long haired, motorcycle riding professor who has girls trying to tempt him in every class. Blaine is just over 6 feet of dark haired yummyness. They both have brains and looks which is a total turn on. Jimmy though a young and confused college student come across as a determined and open minded man willing to do whatever he can to fulfill his goals and dreams. Lavender is no pushover either. She’s got to decide if she’s willing to go again her father, a man she both loves and hates. Once she decides, there will be no going back.
Given that there are four main characters you can expect that there will a complex plot and you would be correct. Not only is there two different love stories going on but there is a major power struggle going on within the witch community. There are hidden secrets to be reveled, spies to be ferreted out and alliances to be formed. Nothing is as simple as it appears. When thunder starts to roll in, expect shocking results!
The worlds that are developed are defined with rules and lives. The human part is just as we normally perceive. School, work and youthful pranks are all part of it. The witch part though has secrets and loyalties to different rules than the humans. Within pages, that becomes apparent and the dual life that Killian and Lavender operate in becomes real.
The sex is hot and strikes sparks. Once Killian and Lavender decide to go after their humans, they can’t seem to keep their hands off them. While Killian and Blaine’s encounters are much more graphically described than Lavender and Jimmy’s each brings the story forward and builds on it. Don’t expect lines like and they made love with no scene because that doesn’t really happen…….okay, maybe once….but the sex that is described is hot!
I do not usually read male/male stories. However, I almost always make the exception for Tara Lain. She writes a story that grabs your interest and emotions making you connect with her characters and her stories. I have a tendency to forget the sex of the characters and just enjoy the love that connects them.
I really enjoyed this story. It had my interest from the beginning and I was still sitting at the edge of my seat by the end. I just wasn’t ready to let go of these wonderful characters. Things were getting shook up and heading into new directions when the story ended leaving me to wonder when the next book is coming out and will we get to see Killian, Blaine, Lavender and Jimmy again.
Absolutely fantastic book. If you love male/male romance, make this a must read. If you don’t, give this a try. You may change your mind or like me fall in love with Ms Lain’s stories. The story is the complete package: detailed world, multidimensional characters, a bit of mystery, betrayal, and a happy ending. What more could any reader want?
5 Stars for Golden Dancer from The Romance Reviews
Living an honest life is not always the easiest way to go; but it is the most fulfilling. Whether rich or poor, if you have to lie about who you and what you believe, it will eventually take its toll. One lie leads to another, as Ash Armitage of 'Sinders and Ash' by Tara Lain finds out, and soon you're not sure what's important and what isn't.
Even though Ash is rich and famous, he's poor when it comes to freedom. His life isn't his own; it's dictated by his status. Ash has a lot of potential, perhaps, but little motivation. Mark, aka Sinders, on the other hand, is as poor as a church mouse, and prefers a profile lower than Ash could ever wish for. Instead of having all the privileges of the rich like Ash does, Mark has been on his own since he was sixteen. Everything he has achieved has been through his own ingenuity and determination. Even though Mark has very little money, he has big dreams and he's willing to do whatever it takes to achieve them. Living openly as a gay man hasn't always been the easiest choice, but for Mark, it's the only way. Ash admires Mark's honesty and bravery and yearns to be like him. When it comes down to the wire, Ash has to choose between loving Mark and keeping his fortune.
Although this story has all the makings of a modern day fairy tale, including a spoiled rich prince, a poor hardworking commoner, and a fairy godmother, Tara has also woven in some serious issues, such as gay children being rejected by their parents and their fight for survival. She also reminds us how insidious lies can be, stealing our dignity and plaguing our consciences. She's also thrown in some positive messages, like being true to oneself, anything you can dream you can do, money can't buy happiness, and last but certainly not least, that clothes don't make the man or woman. I'd recommend this book to anyone who wants to read an enjoyable, sensual story, full of charm, wit, age-old wisdom, and, of course, as with all fairy tales, a happily ever after ending.
